The PR-domain containing proteins (PRDMs) have a common involvement in the modulation of gene activities. A PR-domain family member usually produces two products, which differ by the presence or absence of the PR domain. The PR-plus product is underexpressed or disrupted, whereas the PR-minus product is present or overexpressed in cancer cells. This imbalance in the amount of the two products, which is a result of either genetic or epigenetic events, appears to be a determining cause of malignancy. PRDM10 (PR domain containing 10), also known as PFM7 or TRIS, is a 1,147 amino acid protein that contains ten C2H2-type zinc fingers and one SET domain. Existing as six alternatively spliced isoforms, PRDM10 localizes nucleus and may be involved in transcriptional regulation. PRDM10 may also play a role in the development of the central nerve system, as well as in the pathogenesis of neuronal storage disease. Product :

Describe :

Blocking peptides are peptides that bind specifically to the target antibody and block antibody binding. These peptide usually contains the epitope recognized by the antibody. Antibodies bound to the blocking peptide no longer bind to the epitope on the target protein. This mechanism is useful when non-specific binding is an issue, for example, in Western blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC). By comparing the staining from the blocked antibody versus the antibody alone, one can see which staining is specific; Specific binding will be absent from the western blot or IHC performed with the neutralized antibody.
