Product Name :
Bioepitope® protein A Reagent Applications :
Protein A is suitable for immunoprecipitation of mouse IgG2a,IgG2b,and IgA, rabbit IgG, and human IgG1, IgG2 and IgG4 Background :
MW: 32 kD (SDS-PAGE) Purity: 95% The pH range: pH 2.0-11.0 Alternative Name :
Classification :
IP Related Reagents Format :
Liquid Contents :
5mg Protein A in 1ml PBS Storage & Shelf Life :
Shipped at 4°C. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C. Procedure :
Protein A is a surface protein of S.aureus which binds IgG molecules by their Fc region. In serum, the bacteria will bind IgG molecules in the wrong orientation on their surface which hinders opsonization and phagocytosis. Mutants of S. aureus lacking protein A are more efficiently phagocytosed in vitro, and mutants in infection models have diminished virulence. Due to its affinity for the Fc region of many mammalian immunoglobulins, protein A is considered a universal reagent in biochemistry and immunology. Research use :
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedures. Expiration Date :
One year from date of reconstitution.
